I see you like Drugs... topic very much, Billy Patience, Lyn. Some people call it a virtue It's nice to see you here Btw, in Serbian 'shirina' means width. Hah! I guess in Serbia, it means I'm fat. In Hindi, it means "Night" --- it's also my real name.

Welcome Shirina/Lyndistry... This is where the really hardcore nutcases come to escape the dales and party like there's no tomorrow... (me, pex, Billy ) Feel free to wander the asylum with the rest of us. Just beware of the dungeons... have been told Az is still prowling around somewhere looking for another victim to practise his torture techiniques on...

I think Lynd may have already figured out that we are the really hardcore nut cases. I think your name is beautiful, Lynd. I wish I had a name quite so lovely.

Pex, I should start signing my name with the inverted carot over the "S" -- that'll make everyone scratch their heads in confusion. I doubt anyone at work or at the bank (etc.) would know how to properly pronounce it then. ;D They'd probably start calling me "Serena" or something. Though, if I ever visit Serbia, people will be calling me "Width." Somehow, that just doesn't seem very classy in conversation. Spoken in Serbian ---> "Uh, hello, Width, nice to meet you..." Billy, Thanks for the compliment. Actually, naming me caused a week-long argument between my parents. My father, who is English, wanted a traditional English name. My mother, who is Asian-Indian, demanded a Hindi name since I would already have a hard-core English surname. My father refused because Hindi names are, in his words, "too bloody hard to spell and even harder to pronounce." Needless to say, my mother eventually won the fight, something she still ribs him about to this day. Eventually, though, he admitted he was glad he let my mother name me -- since I took after the Indian side of the family in appearance. Martin: Does my being here default me into the category of being 'hard-core?' By the way...just where are these dungeons? I might like to take a look around.

Spoken in Serbian ---> "Uh, hello, Width, nice to meet you..." lol It's probably accentuated differently but I see your point. Well, if it's some comfort to you there are some foreign names that mean far worse things in Serbian irt Martin, should we mew loudly for Jem to notice us? ;D

I suppose we could bang on the walls a bit and make a bit of noise just to let her know we are back.

So tell me, pex...
If you're writing in Serbian, and you want to have a character say, "Sssshhhhhh! Be quiet!"
Does it look like this?
"ŠŠŠŠŠŠŠŠŠŠ! Be quiet!"
;D ;D ;D

Actually, it would be like "Ššššššššš! Tišina!" Btw, tišina = silence and don't tell me you have a cousin called like that Be quiet can be translated with Budi tih, but that doesn't carry enough impact to be a command, it's more like polite asking.

*meows* Oh, I stop by often enough, no worries Welcome on board, Shirina, glad you decided to join my little haven here I'm working on getting my one current game up and running again, and as I've heard naught from neither Verno, DDH, nor noremorserhythm that Call scenario may end up playerless and open for other participants... but so far only Vegetarian's Delight will run again.

Any chance of getting into the game? It's been years since I've played a Cthulu game ... I'm not even sure which 'edition' is out these days... but I would love to play.
pex:
It's not my cousin who's named Tisina ... it's my aunt. ;D Actually, I'm just kidding.

AHHHHH YOU KNOW CALL OF CTHULHU!!!!! *dies from shock* You're now officially one of us Hehe, since you're wondering about edition I can guess that you've played Chaosium's game system the current edition is 6th. But no worries it's compatible very easily with 5th and generally compatible with most previous editions. So it shouldn't be too hard to get you back into it I'll see if I can get Rest Stops up and running as well, and of course there's room for you. Though for now I'll focus on the already running game

Yep...I used to play it in college. I rather enjoyed it despite knowing my character was always doomed to go insane. Glad to be aboard. I believe it was Chaosium ... this was back in, oh, I'd say 1993-1995 when I played, so I'm guessing the rules have gone through considerable changes since then. I remember that the game was based on a d% system, you had a lengthy list of skills, and you had to fail a skill roll to improve it, etc. I've heard there's a d20 Cthulhu system out, but I've never seen it. Anyhow....just tell me when and where (and how), and I'll be happy to join you. Thanks.

*huggles Jem*
Glad to see you back!
You'll have to explain to us poor, uninitiated n00bs exactly what this "CALL OF CTHULHU" is... and how it differs from the d&d you've been teaching me...
