There, a new thread seeing as the old was getting... well, old.
I can call in Toth to play, anyone else interested in this game may post here and start putting a character together.
Due to the extra work it is for me to start you off seperately I'll prefer to simply let you all be employees in your own detective agency, it'll make it far easier for me to get you involved, and rest assured I'll still be using your backgrounds and bios. I just want to get you together in game asap as this is what's been holding up the other game among other things.
The detective agency will be Boston based, so you have that to build on - it doesn't mean that your chars must have all their past in Boston - just that their immediate past must be.
Fot those interested: lemme know.

"Is this one 1920's or 1990's?"

You'll probably live to regret this, Jem, but... yeah - am interested. I'll have a look at those links again over the weekend and see how much I can understand.
I'll badger you mercilessly for explanations on the rest!

I'd be willing to play ... except I'm not sure how to put a character together without the rulebooks.
Just keep me informed of what's going on ... I look forward to it.

Lynd, Jem posted some really good links for developing a character in another topic in this section. Not many others knew how to play either. Jem, I think I will watch for a while, is that ok? You know I'm a coward.

Right, Martin, Lynd, and Toth - so far.
The thread Martin directe you to is indeed where you'll find the initial moves of char creation. Anything beyond that is a personality and an occupation and I'll assign you the skills that will go with the occupation you choose.
I'll set up Rest Stops as y'all being a group of PI's - Boston based.
You haven't been PI's all your lives of course, hence you're gonna choose a profession you had before you became PI's - or you may still have it as a part-time job. For this reason you'll have both the occupation skills of your previous profession and some - only some - of those of a PI.
I will assign them to you accordingly once you've told me what kinds of character you're aiming for. Do contact me over PM since I don't want you to know each other's stat sheets.
Since you work together it's reasonable that you'll be knowing something about each other's past, but not everything naturally and it's up to the indivual player how much of a bio you'll be making public - if at all.
Once I get the first char sheet with bio and complete stats and skill points assigned I'll set a deadline. Not for my sake but for your sakes.
First time I attempted to start this game I got a complete bio and sheet from two players while I've seen next to nothing from the two other players. I don't want anyone (but myself) to slow things down, so once sheets start coming in I'll be setting a deadline.
Feel free to send sheet as asson as you've got them ready - or add me to a Messenger if you've questions you'd rather ask in chat than in a PM.

Okay, I've received the beginnings of a character sheet - those who are interested in playing this game will want to start thinking of rolling up a char.

Oh goody ... I was hoping this campaign was beginning soon.
I'll look over the link and get to work. I already have the character and the concept done. I just don't have the game mechanics stuff rolled up.

Jemima:
I just sent you the prelims of my character, but I PMed it to "admin" (that was what came up when I clicked the PM option to the left of your post). I'm only telling you this just in case it didn't go to where it was supposed to go.

I got it.
My username is admin, but my screenname I can change as I please - just like everyone else. It may be a little confusing but PM's have always ended up in the right places so far.

Well, my bio is pm'd.
I hope it's satisfactory.
Can you let me know if I've missed anything out... or if I did any of my stats wrong...
Btw... is it still just me, Toth and Lyndi... or is anyone else brave enough to play?

Only the three of you so far. The Agency you'll be working with in Boston is called Sanders Investigation. Your boss is called, you guessed it, Sanders. He's a big man, red head, though quite without the famous temper, he's well-spoken and thinks things through before acting, perhaps something he picked up in his former job as police officer. This careful planning is likely the cause as to why his bureau has prospered so. He has some full-time employees but also some part-timers. Some jobs are offered openly to any employee and those who want them can sign up for the job with the boss, for other jobs he handpicks his investigators sometimes even calling upon outside contacts and informants if he needs someone with special knowledge of something very specific mostly academic knowledge. If you need any other details just ask
