If you could relive your childhood and strive to get your dream job, what would you study to be? I always wanted to be an archaeologist... but found out too late I was studying the wrong subjects... (we had a subject called Guidance at school which was supposed to be geared towards helping you sort out your education - unfortunately this started in year 4... a year after we had chosen our specialised subjects... Some bloody use it was then! )

I would also pick archaeologist, but I would end up being a "rogue" archaeologist digging up all the things we're not supposed to know about.
Either that...or a career in politics, but the hours are lousy.
Preferably a job that affords a lot of travel to different places.

I always wanted to be a published poet or a writer (or both). Perhaps it's not too late for that, perhaps it is. But I don't think I need to study for that, well, not linguistics or literacy at least. But one thing is certain, I wouldn't pick Mechanical engineering again. Though I'm about to finish it and I started to like it, plus I learned it very well to be a good engineer - no way Jose, not again. Cannot tell what I would choose, though. Btw, here you can only pick the whole course, not specific subjects

I would fall in love with someone rich and marry him and then I would do absolutely nothing that I didn't choose to do.

Of course it is. The fact that the beautiful heart and soul just happened to belong to someone who was rich would be an added bonus, of course. But seriously, if I could be anything I wanted I would have a go at a lot of things. There are so many things that catch my interest.

If you could relive your childhood and strive to get your dream job, what would you study to be? LoL ... this is a good question Martin, but remind me to answer it after a decade since currently I am little more than a child myself ... In any case, I am by a stroke of luck studying a field that had been something I maybe liked the most (computer science) and if I manage to find a job like the one I used to have as a student (I had been a database manager since I was 13 ... simply at my little village noone else was capable and at the same time trustworthy enough for the job) then I would be happy ... :-) ... another alternative is to manage to become a computer science teacher at a school ... best job ever if you live in a village, tons of free time you see!

Education choice-wise, nope, I'd choose the same, but if I got the chance I'd change everything else that ever happened in my life, thus I likely wouldn't be the same person and my current take on my current edu would be futile.

Well, if that could be done, I might re-evaluate my choice of studying Chemistry (I discovered too late that I have a better inclination in computers and electronic devices...which suggests that our education system, despite its positive elements might be in need of some serious re-organizing). But I really would think that I might only made some minor changes in how I did somethings...Chemistry and Computers have been sth I liked and were fascinated by from my early days... Besides, reliving my childhood would means that I would probaly grew tall again so I would have to exclude my dream of becoming a pilot once again ..

Well seeing how I am still a young lil' terror and still spend more time with my droogs peeting down many a tall glass of Moloko with knives. I think I'm still fine with the choices I've made. Indeed, I would change nothing and continue pursuing my dreams of the Wicked Stage.
*Perhaps I'd learn the guitar or something musical so I could actualy benifet my metal/punk/classic/chainsaw band that I will soon be starting...PriedgerFlocht. But that's another topic entirely*

I wanted to be an archeologist, but my family said it wasn't practical so I thought I'd be a teacher (I'd have been lousy at that; I'd have been afraid to speak my mind to the students), so I became a secretary. Ugh.
I still want to be an archeologist - or at least work in a museum. But now I'm retired and that isn't bad!

First I wanted to be a fighter pilot - I still kinda do lol Then I wanted to be a veterinarian - I left that idea alone for good. And I'm glad I did, I don't think I'd have been to put down animals on a regular basis. Then I wanted to be an elite soldier *blush* yes, it's true I left that idea as well. I still think it could have been mighty cool to be an elite soldier - if it wasn't for the fact that I wouldn't have any choice in the matter of what I am to fight for. I seldom agree with my government these days :/ Then I wanted to be a lawyer. I still do. Sometimes I regret I didn't choose Law School instead, mainly because I could be certain of making money after finishing uni. With what I'm doing now it's gonna be harder work to even get a job, and it will never pay as much as being a lawyer could. So heh... If I had the choice all over again, I might just go for law - I can study literature one course at a time later in life, when I have more money to buy books for anyway And money for a library to keep them in lol
