Since there is a place for Tolkien fans,I would like to know how did you feel about the help the elves sent in the movie. This came to me yesterday when I watched the Two Towers again.
I just think that made the humans look week, and although it was made incredibly well in the movie I just can't stand to watch Aragorn hugging Glorfindel like the gods themselves came to aid them.

Okay, firstly, that was Haldir, not Glorfindel. Glorfindel lives in Rivendell, and was the one who actually saved Frodo in Fellowship after he'd been stabbed by the Witch-King. The movie makers were not trying to prove how much better the elves were, or that they were godly - you'll notice that plenty of the elves died in the battle. The point was that Aragorn and Haldir were good friends and that the elves were upholding their end of an alliance that had been in place thousands of years previous. I myself loved Haldir as well, and there was much outraged yelling and throwing of things at the screen when he croaked. (I wasn't alone in this, attending the midnight showing generally means you're around fanatics as obsessed as you )

I wasn't a huge fan of the entire Battle at Helm's Deep part of the movie, I thought the movie devoted way too much time to it, when in the book it only had a chapter. That being said, the battle was still cool looking and whatnot, I just thought that it took too long. As for the elves showing up, I didn't like how they deviated from the book yet again, but thought it worked fairly well for the movie.

Forgive me, oh Lord of Nerds, Olidamara... I have sinned, and taken it upon myself to not enjoy the movies based off of LotR. In fact I am not bezoomy about the books either. But movies put me to sleep. I swear people are always talking about parts that I don't remember at all, it's right silly. The battle at Helm's deep wasn't exactly the best war scene... bleh, and Elves are ponces anyway you look at it. Of course Argon Held him like that, he's got a thing for Androgyny.
Don't get me wrong, my opinions on the movie are from one of the lamest lewdies (people) on earth, so take 'em with a grain of "Shut the Pants up, Chump!" But all in all, really if you go from one art medium to another, there is gunna be changes that die-hard fans won't like. Because the perspective changes, and what you see depends on where you stand. [[ In my most humiliating opinion, the movies made it look like Gimli wasn't half so cool as Legolamb. Which really set me off with fire in my guttiwuts.]]
My two scents.
