. . . few things. One: I'm rather ashamed of myself for even writing this, as I generally don't go in for sap. Two: A certain Mod is likely going to kill/dump me when and if he sees this. I'm betting the first. Three: This is in no way related to "O Captain, my Captain," I just felt it was an appropriate title. Also, finishing this is helping me take my mind off of some very unpleasant things, so . . . yeah . . . critique like you mean it!
Dragon, my Dragon
Dark flashing hair,
Bright clever eyes.
True human form, no
Draconish disguise.
Fiery spirited lad,
Guarded soul works within.
Denies all emotion,
Yet sports a shy grin.
He bristles imperiously
Casting warnings to all.
"Fear me, this dark dragon,
Remove thyself from my wall."
Intrepid young wench -
She, the foolhardy knight.
Raises high her shield,
Stands before his great might.
Her eyes meet his,
Offer a challenging stare.
He raises an eyebrow
And readies his flare.
She faces his fire,
Gently lowers her shield.
The wench stands behind,
Her true self revealed.
The dark head rears back,
Preparing to flame,
Yet is halted by something
That he cannot quite name.
"How came you here, wench?
And why do you stay?
Most see these teeth, this flame
And in fear run away."
"They are certainly fine,"
The wench boldy replies,
"but I'm different, you see -
I'll remain at your side."
The dragon tilts his head
And scoffs, cov'ring alarm.
She'd wrenched open his lair,
Surely meant him great harm.
She then dropped her shield,
Threw her sword far behind.
"I need these no longer,
I claim what is mine."
"Wench, why are you here?
Say these things that you do?"
"'Tis simple, my lad,
My dragon - I love you."
And I do, you git. . Please don't kill me.
