History:
Omar was born in India in 1820. His father was a British trader, his mother was a local prostitute. He grew up on the streets and got into drugs at a young age. He came of age during the Opium War, and found a new drug, kaliph, the drug of the Vampire Clan Assamite. They grow it on Mount Alamut in Turkey, their base of operations. It is used by the Bloodline of Viziers, the Clan's thaumaturges. Since vampire blood does not circulate, they can not use the drug directly, but must use mortal vessels to use the drug, then feed upon the intoxicated individuals. Omar was one such vessel.
After ten years, a good run for a kaliph vessel, he finally took too much and died. He was found by a clan assassin and his Vizier, Faruk. Faruk approved the embracing of Omar, making him an Assassin, one of the main Bloodline of the Clan. Omar's duty now was to kill other vampires and transfer the vitae to Faruk through a clan ritual. In return, Omar got the use of special Thaumaturgy from Faruk, which aided in the continuation of his mission.
Omar came to despise vampires and relished his occupation. Finally, Faruk revealed the truth to him, that the clan was founded by the great Hakeem, who founded the clan to use vampire power against the Kindred. His passion made him an ideal Assassin, and it was decided that Omar would follow the Clan Path of Blood, a viscious alternative to the moral code of Humanity which allowed a vampire to seek inner balance by hunting other vampires and ridding them from the world. To begin this path, omar would have to commit the ultimate vampiric sin, or rather according to the Path of Blood, the greatest sacrament: Diablerie, the complete exsanguination of another vampire followed by drinking his very soul out of his body.
His target was a Tremere, one of the Warlocks who cursed the Assamite with pain that accompanied the taste of vampiric vitae, a dangerous combination for the cla which interfered with their traditon of feeding on other vampires. The particular Tremere was a practioner of the Lure of Flames, a Thaumaturgical path which allowed one to use fire. This was a dangerous Discipline as fire was one of the few weaknesses vampires had and the power to control fire was something to be feared. This Tremere was also high enough that he had used the ritual of the talisman to create a powerful sabre. Though he followed only one path, his rituals were many, which allowed him to protect himself and was thus a very challenging target.
Omar rose to the challenge. He attempted to kill the Warlock in silence using his Disciplines, but his prey was too well prepared, and a battle ensued. However, despite all the Tremere's preparations, Omar was simply the superior warrior and he successfully Diablerized the Tremere. In the struggle, the sabre was broken. Omar collected the two pieces; one piece was the handle and enough of the blade to bear runes describing the first three levels of Lure of Flames. The rest of the required runes were on the other part of the blade. Omar returned the latter piece to Faruk, but kept the former part which he uses as a dagger and always keeps it on himself, only inches away from his grasp.
